FC Dallas' opening match of the MLS is Back Tournament versus the Vancouver Whitecaps has been postponed to a later date, the league announced Saturday.
The contest initially was scheduled for Thursday.
FC Dallas, who arrived in Florida on June 27, announced earlier this week that nine players and one coach had tested positive for the coronavirus. The team has since been under quarantine and has not been involved in training.
The Whitecaps had been set to arrive in the Orlando area for the tournament at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on Wednesday. The team, however, delayed their departure due to a pair of inconclusive tests. The tests later came back negative and the Whitecaps will now head to Florida on Monday.
FC Dallas and Vancouver are now slated to begin the tournament on July 15 against the Seattle Sounders and San Jose Earthquakes, respectively.
