Australian GM subsidiary facing downturn
Australian News.Net Monday 6th July, 2009
The General Motor's subsidiary in Australia, Holden, is now facing tough times with export markets slowing down.
Holden’s main business outside Australia is with the Middle East, which is the car maker’s biggest foreign market.
The Middle East accounted for about 75 per cent of Holden's exports in the last years, but export volumes have declined since then.
Since 1998, more than 200,000 Holden cars badged as Chevrolet and Pontiac have been exported to Middle East countries.
Currently, Holden cars are sold in the Middle East as Chevrolet Lumina and as Chevrolet Caprice. Email this story to a friend
