Pammie plans to meet Oz PM Kevin Rudd
Australian News.Net Saturday 5th July, 2008 (ANI)
Melbourne, July 5 : Pamela Anderson is planning to meet Australian PM Kevin Rudd with reference to PETA's campaign against mulesing and live animal exports.
The former Baywatch babe will be meeting the PM, once she flies down to be a part Australian Big Brother.
Animal rights group PETA had written an open letter to Rudd over its campaign against Aussie wool farmers.
"She would love to meet with Kevin Rudd, if she could get the meeting,'' Daily Telegraph quoted PETA Asia-Pacific senior campaigner Ashley Fruno, as saying.
"I'm sure she'll speak out on the issue every chance she gets,'' Fruno added.

Pammie plans to meet Oz PM Kevin Rudd
There is no way of controlling animal “welfare” in foreign countries. These places treat animals as commodities, and treat them appallingly! No organisation exist such as RSPCA - and even here they can’t do much for livestock! Live exports needs to stop and only frozen meat exported. We can’t compromise animals welfare and let our animals endure horrific journeys to be brutalised in the Middle East. Pammy should be supported.

Let's welcome Pammie!
High profile people, such as Pamela Anderson, bring a welcome voice to help animals, and what they say gains media attention. The cruelty of mulesing and live exports needs to be driven home as intolerable and shaming to a so-called civilised country. I’d be delighted for her to have a conversation with Kevin. He needs to make good on his statement that he hates cruelty and if there was anything the Commonwealth could do to stop it (this was live exports) it would be done. It hasn’t been, and it needs to be. Go for it Pamela!

Against Live Export - Pamela / PM Rudd
Live export is hideously cruel. The chilled meat export trade is the way to go. After speaking to Muslim people here in Australia, the feeling is overseas that Australians want to stop food going into the Middle East. I explained its the cruelty in the live export and at the Middle Eastern Abattoirs that is the problem. Also there is the cruelty here in Australia of animals being transported in cruel conditions without water and feed sometimes for up to 3 days. So the idea of Muslims in the Middle East having a truly “halal” slaughter is nothing but deceit. Animals slaughtered here in Australia do not suffer the weeks of torment and illness and cruelty on live export ships and then at the abattoirs in the Middle East where there are absolutely no animal welfare laws. The only law is the one in the “Koran” forbidding cruelty to any animal. Give jobs back to Australians, stop cruelty. The chilled export meat trade is bigger than live export, so dont be fooled.

too many livestock in Australia already
While we export millions of sheep and cattle that face atrocious conditions in ships and inhumane treatment, the other negative dimension to livestock is their impact on the land. Livetock emit methane gas, much more powerful than CO2, and they cause constand land damage and biodiversity losses. We can’t be the food bowl of the planet and destroy it for generations to come. We are one of the countries that will suffer must from climate change. Livestock industries will just make it worse - all for greed and profits.

Pamela, please help stop live exports
Pamela Anderson deserves the support of every decent Australian in her stand against cruelty to Australian “livestock”. Even here in Australia, sheep and cattle can be transported for days at a time with no feed or water. Those doomed to the live export trade face shocking brutality that would be illegal in this country. Kevin Rudd is the Master of Hypocrisy, with his statement “I cannot abide cruelty”. MAKE him live up to it be stopping the export of any Australian animals for slaughter in overseas countries, and don’t be fooled by the “gospel according to MLA” - that it can make a difference.

Please support Pamela's stand
Kevin Rudd said, BEFORE he was elected, “I cannot abide cruelty”, The reality is that he actively supports it, by throwing OUR taxpayer dollars at the live export trade. These animals face unspeakable brutality in importing countries, and in three decades, nothing has changed. 40,000 meatworkers' jobs have been lost. There is no excuse for this, it is a collective shame on the Australian conscience.

Well done, Pamela
Quaker Concern for Animals in Britain, which supports Australian campaigners against the live export trade and mulesing, would like to thank Pamela Anderson for speaking up for defenceless creatures.
