Kylie's contribution snubbed by Coldplay

London, May 17 : Aussie pop princess Kylie Minogue had recorded a vocal for Coldplay's new album, but it didn't make it to the final edition, as it was scrapped.

Minogue's hard work was discarded after Coldplay front man Chris Martin decided that it did not fit the mood.

The two share a record label, Parlophone, but their sessions together for the eagerly awaited fourth collection, Viva La Vida, were at times fraught.

"Kylie is awesome. She's like Girls Aloud rolled into one," the Sun quoted hris as telling Q mag's website Q4music.com.

"I took apart the song she did with us, like a Corby trouser press," he added.

According to bassist Guy Berryman, the album, which is due out on June 12, is the band's most political yet.

"There's this slightly anti-authoritarian viewpoint that's crept into some of the lyrics," Berryman said.

"It's the pay-off between being surrounded by governments on one side, but also we're human beings with emotions and we're all going to die...and the stupidity of what we have to put up with," he added.
